Porcelain Crowns and Bridges in Harleysville, PA

older couple hugging & smiling I porcelain crowns & bridges in harleysville paOur goal is to bring you treatments that restore health, beauty, and function to your smile. Dental restorations like aesthetic crowns and bridges are essential for repairing teeth that have been affected by decay or other damage.

We believe that cosmetic and restorative treatments should enhance your oral health and improve your appearance. Our innovative solutions will optimize your dental health and leave you with a smile that you love.

We understand that having a crown or bridge placed is an investment in time and money on your part, and you should be thrilled with the results. Dr. McMaugh is an expert at crafting durable dental restorations that improve your oral health, feel great, and look just like your natural teeth.

All-Porcelain Dental Crowns

A dental crown, also referred to as a dental cap, is used to restore and protect teeth whose structure has been compromised by decay, disease, or dental trauma. The crown encases the tooth to add strength and improve the overall function and aesthetics of the tooth.

Here are some situations where placing a dental crown would be indicated:

  • Repairing teeth with cracks or other damage
  • Filling a large cavty or after root canal therapy
  • Restoring a dental implant
  • Hide discolored or severely stained teeth
  • Alter the appearance of poorly shaped or misaligned teeth
  • Replacing existing dental work that has broken down

Several materials are available to create a dental crown, but, we opt for all-porcelain because it's a durable material that we can shade to blend with surrounding teeth. To ensure that your new dental crown fit perfectly and look natural, Dr. McMaugh uses dental lasers to gently reshape the gum around your new crown. You will leave our office with a stronger tooth and an improved appearance.

Dental Bridges

Losing a tooth does more than create an aesthetic problem. You may find that chewing is more difficult and speaking clearly is a challenge. Over time, you will also notice that your appearance is altered as your face takes on a sunken appearance.

If you have missing teeth, we can recommend a number of treatments based on your needs. In many cases, a fixed dental bridge may be an excellent choice for you.

Bridges are a dental restoration designed to fill the gap left by a lost tooth. We stabilize the bridge by attaching it to neighboring teeth with dental crowns. Dr. McMaugh may also recommend the placement of a dental implant to further support the bridge.

Dental bridges are designed to serve several purposes:

  • Restore your ability to chew and speak normally
  • Prevent tooth movement by filling the open space
  • Improve the healthy and beauty of your smile

Dear Friends, Due to Covid-19, we have made a lot of changes to the office. We have put in new negative pressure rooms with HEPA filters to keep us all safer as well as many other protocols. We are also slowly catching up on our hygiene appointments. Having just opened up for hygiene the beginning of July, and new protocols, it will take us a while, though. Thank you for your patience during these trying times.
Please stay safe and call us if you have any dental issues or questions.  Take care.
